APPLICATION REVIEW

Cooling water

Build a focused chemistry discussion around your system conditions, target treatment and required documentation.

Control scale, deposits and corrosion.

A product name is only the beginning. Water chemistry, operating conditions and the existing treatment program all influence a useful product review. When evaluating HEDP for scale control, compare the HEDP specifications and grade options against your treatment requirements.

  • Phosphonate chemistry for scale-control discussions: compare PBTC reference specifications and ATMP liquid and solid grades against your requirements.
  • Polymers for dispersion and deposit-control review: examine HPMA polymer specifications and QSY3100 terpolymer data with the stated test conditions.
  • Yellow-metal inhibitors where the application calls for them
  • Prepare a PBTC or ATMP review. Describe the deposit problem and identify the current ingredient by full chemical name, form and grade. Include hardness, alkalinity, operating pH and temperature, with units. Use the PBTC specifications and ATMP specifications to identify the materials under review.
  • Explain the treatment program. For a PBTC review, identify any oxidizing biocide, its operating concentration and dosing pattern, together with the other treatment ingredients. These details help define the compatibility checks needed for the complete formulation.
  • Define the result to evaluate. State the test method and acceptance criteria your team will use for scale, deposit or corrosion control. Compare product identities and specification bases before planning an evaluation; similar content percentages do not establish interchangeable performance.
